Write A Letter To Your Aunt Describing Your Favourite Hobby

Do you write letters anymore? I remember writing a lot of letter as a child. They were usually full of drawings and poorly spelled words. It felt good to get that pencil on paper and explore my creativity. If you want to try your hand at writing letters in 2023, here are a few ideas to make the process easier.
Write A Letter To Your Aunt Describing Your Favourite Hobby
Dear Auntie,
I hope you’re having a great day! I just wanted to tell you how much I love the hobby that I’ve been doing recently. It’s something that I’ve been passionate about for quite a while now, and it’s really helped me find myself.
The hobby is [hobby]. It’s not just something I do—it’s also who I am. When people ask me what my hobbies are, or when they ask me what my favorite activity is, it’s always this one. It’s something that has become part of who I am, and it’s something that’s helped me grow as a person in so many ways.
I’m glad you introduced me to this hobby when we were younger. It was definitely something that changed my life for the better!
Dear Auntie,
I hope you’re doing well! I wanted to write you a letter and tell you about my favorite hobby.
My favorite hobby is drawing. I love the way that it makes me feel when I’m creating something beautiful. I always feel like I’ve accomplished something when I finish a piece, and that feeling is so satisfying. My friends often ask me if they can borrow my art supplies, but I never lend them out because this is something that’s just for me.
The most important thing about drawing is being able to express yourself with your own style—and being able to do it in an original way that no one else has done before. That’s why I love drawing so much. It allows me to be creative, while also allowing me to find out who I truly am as an artist and human being!
I hope this letter finds you well; please give my best wishes to your husband and son!
Dear Auntie,
How are you? I hope you are doing well. I want to share my hobby with you. I like to play football. Football is a sport where two teams of 11 players kick the ball to each other and try to get the ball into the opposition’s goal. The game lasts for 90 minutes, split into two halves of 45 minutes. The team with the most goals at the end of these 90 minutes wins.
I started playing football when I was 7 years old and had a coach who taught me how to play the game properly. Now I am 18 years old and have played for my school team since I was 15 years old up until now.
I have also been invited to play for an under-21s team which is a great honor for me as this means that I am seen as one of the best young players in my area!
I hope you like my letter and thank you so much for reading it!
Dear Auntie,
Thank you for the letter. It was very nice to hear from you again. I’m glad that you are doing well and am happy to hear about your recent trip to [location].
I hope your summer has been going well so far! I’ve been enjoying my summer as well and have been spending a lot of time with friends and family.
I’m sorry to hear that you are having problems with your knee, but I hope it gets better soon.
I am currently in school studying programming. It’s been a lot of fun so far, although it can be pretty challenging as well! My favorite hobby is programming because it allows me to create things that other people will use or interact with.
I hope all is well in [location] and that you’re having a good summer!
Dear Auntie,
I hope you’re doing well and enjoying your retirement. I know you’ve been looking forward to it for a long time.
I’ve been thinking about what you said at Christmas about the new hobby you’d like to take up. You said that you wanted to learn how to knit, but you were worried that it would be difficult for someone with arthritis. I thought maybe this could be a good opportunity to say that I’m taking up knitting too, and if you want we could do it together!
The only problem is that I don’t know where to start. My friend told me about [website name], which seems really helpful—it has videos and instructions on how to knit different kinds of things from scarves to hats. Maybe we could watch some videos together? Or maybe we could get together in person? Either way, let me know when would work best for you and I’ll try my best to make it happen!
Love always, [your name].
Dear Auntie,
How are you doing? I hope you are fine. I am also doing well.
I am writing to you because I want to share with you my hobby that I like most. My hobby is drawing and painting. When I was a kid, I used to draw and paint very often. And now when I have free time, I draw or paint something new for me. If someday, my paintings can be sold at an art gallery or something like that, that would be great!
I hope we can meet someday soon so that we can talk about our hobbies and enjoy each other’s company!
Dear Aunt,
I know you live far away and we don’t get to see each other as often as I would like. But I wanted to tell you about something that has been keeping me busy lately.
I have been spending a lot of time with my friends watching and playing sports. There is so much to learn about the game, and we are always talking about it! It’s great because there are so many different kinds of sports—we get to play basketball, volleyball, tennis… even football!
I hope this letter finds you well and happy.
Dear Aunt,
I hope this letter finds you well. I wanted to take the time to tell you about my favorite hobby: reading. I love it because it gives me a chance to escape from reality for a while and enter into another world. The fact that those worlds are created by other people is incredible. And the fact that they can be shared with other people—well, that’s just amazing!
I got started on this hobby when I was little, and my parents would read out loud to me before bedtime every night. It was like magic every time they did it: suddenly, we were all transported away from our little house in the suburbs and off into faraway lands full of adventure and excitement. There was always something new to discover on each page—and sometimes even between them! My mom would always buy me books as gifts too, so there was always something new and exciting waiting for me whenever she came home from shopping at the bookstore.
As I grew older and started reading more books on my own (and not just having them read aloud), I realized how much there was still left for me to learn about this world we live in—and beyond!
Thanks and best regards, [Your name].
Dear Aunt,
I hope you’re doing well.
I just wanted to write and tell you about my favorite hobby: surfing. I’ve been doing it for about five years now, and I absolutely love it. I have a friend who teaches me at the beach in Santa Monica, and she always helps me with my balance and where to put my feet.
The first time I surfed was an eye-opening experience—I couldn’t believe how much fun it was! After a few tries, I found that I had a knack for catching waves and riding them all the way back in from the ocean. It’s such a rush!
Surfing is also really good exercise—it burns more calories than running! And because you’re constantly moving your body around so much, it’s great for building muscle strength and toning up those muscles quickly. If you ever want to try surfing out yourself (and maybe even get in shape while doing it), let me know—I’d be happy to take you out some time!
Hello Aunt!
I hope you are doing well. I was thinking about you and wanted to tell you about my favourite hobby. My hobby is drawing and painting. I love using pencils, crayons, markers and paint brushes to create beautiful pieces of art. Sometimes I use paper but sometimes I use large canvases to create larger pieces of art.
I am so happy when I am able to make a piece that looks like something in real life or something out of my imagination. It is so much fun to see how other people react when they see my artwork and they say things like “wow” or “that’s incredible”, or even “how did you do that?”. You can see some of my paintings on Instagram @[username].
I hope this letter finds you well and happy!
Dear Auntie,
I hope this letter finds you well! I wanted to let you know how much I’ve enjoyed the hobby of basket weaving.
The process of making baskets is amazing. First, you have to find a good tree that makes strong, sturdy branches. Then, you have to cut off a branch from the tree and split it down the middle so that it will bend into a curve and become more flexible. Then, you tie some string around that branch and hang it over your shoulder while walking through the woods until you find some flowers or leaves or fruit that you want to use in your basket. Next, you take those flowers or leaves or fruit and wrap them around your branch until they are tightly woven together—and voilà! You have a beautiful basket! That’s all there is to it!
It’s amazing how easy it is too. And once I started practicing my skills, I realized that this could be an excellent hobby for anyone who wants to make something beautiful out of nothing but their own hands and some natural resources from their environment.
Dear Auntie,
How are you? I hope this letter finds you well. I am writing to you today because I want to tell you about one of my favorite things in the world: [hobby].
I first started doing [hobby] when I was just a little boy. At first, it was just something that my friends and I would do on the weekends. We’d get together at someone’s house and play video games until our eyes hurt from staring at the screen for so long. But as we got older, we began to take our gaming more seriously. We started playing tournaments online, and eventually became professionals who could make money off of our skills.
Nowadays, I play [hobby] every day—and not just because it’s fun! It also helps me unwind after a stressful day at work or school. When all else fails and life gets tough, there’s nothing better than sitting down with some friends and blowing up some bad guys on my XBox One!
Dear Auntie,
I hope you had a great birthday! I’m sorry I couldn’t be there to celebrate with you, but I was really busy.
I wanted to write and tell you about my favorite hobby: making music. It’s so relaxing, and it helps me clear my head when life gets crazy.
I’ve been doing it since high school, when I first joined the marching band. Then in college I discovered how much fun it is to play guitar by myself. Nowadays I’m working on writing songs and performing them at open mic nights at bars around town.
I love seeing the reactions on people’s faces when they hear what I’ve written—it’s like their minds are just blown away by how amazing it sounds! And then after that happens, they invite me back onto the stage again to play another song… or two… or three! It’s so much fun!
