Write A Letter To A Friend That Includes One Or Two Of Your Favourite Memories Together
Dear [Friend’s Name],
I’ve been thinking about you a lot lately. It’s been a long time since we’ve talked, and I wanted to check in with you and make sure you’re doing okay.
I so appreciate our friendship—I know it’s not easy to make new friends as an adult, but it feels like the most natural thing for us. You know what? Let me tell you about my favorite memory of us together!
It was probably around this time last year, when we were out on a walk and you told me about your dream vacation spot: the beach! You said it was this place where the sand is so white that it glows in the moonlight, and there are waves so large that they crash right up against your feet as if they were trying to tell you something important. And then we laughed because you said “how could anyone be sad when they’re at the beach?” And then we got home and Googled places with beaches like yours, because we wanted to go there someday too!
Dear [name],
I hope this letter finds you well. I’m writing because I wanted to share some of my favorite memories with you. I think back on them often and smile, which is why I wanted to share them.
The first memory that comes to mind is when we were in school and we had a class trip to the zoo. We had just gotten our first phones, and so we made a game of seeing who could get the best pictures of animals at the zoo. We got so many great pictures—one has even been framed! It’s hanging in your living room right now, actually, if you look up when you’re sitting on the couch.
Another memory was when we went shopping for prom dresses together (and really only two people could fit into one dress). We were laughing so hard that we had tears running down our faces—but it was worth it because everyone loved our dresses (and we still have them!).
Those are just two memories that come to mind right now, but there are so many more that make me smile when I think about them: going on double dates with each other; taking selfies together; watching movies…
Hey there,
I know it’s been a while since we last spoke, but I just wanted to drop you a line and tell you how much I’m missing you! It’s been so long since we were able to hang out, and it feels like the days are just flying by.
The best part about being friends with someone is that you get to share all of your best memories with them. The memories that really stick out in my mind are:
-the time we went to the beach and had so much fun building sand castles, even though it was cold out!
-then there was the time we went to the park and played on the swings for hours (and hours). I think we kept going because we kept thinking about how awesome it would be if someone filmed us doing it—but then that never happened…
Anyway… those are definitely some of my favorite memories with you! If you don’t mind me asking: do you have any favorites? Maybe something we did together that really stands out? It would mean a lot to hear from you again!
Dear [name],
I hope you’re having a great week. I just wanted to write you a quick note and say how much I appreciate your friendship. I think about you all the time, and I’m so grateful that you are in my life.
One of my favorite memories with you is when we went on that road trip together last summer. We drove out to [insert location] and stayed at [insert hotel name], and it was amazing! The views were incredible, and we got to see all kinds of wildlife. It was so much fun hanging out with you in nature like that. We had such a good time together!
Another one of my favorite memories is when we went skiing with our families last winter. We didn’t know what we were getting ourselves into at first, but it turned out to be one of the best experiences ever! My sister got really good at skiing (she’s still talking about how much fun it was), but unfortunately she broke her leg while she was there—so instead of being able to ski down hills like us, she had to stay inside most of the time (we felt bad for her). But that’s okay—we still had fun regardless!
Dear [name],
How are you? I hope all is well in your life.
I had to write you today because I have been thinking about our friendship and how much I appreciate it. In fact, that’s what I want to talk about today.
Dear [name],
I just wanted to take a moment and thank you for the memories we’ve shared together. You mean so much to me, and I’m grateful that we have each other to share our lives with.
I can’t wait for our next adventure together!
Dear [name],
It’s been so long since we’ve seen each other, but I wanted to write to you and tell you how much I miss you. I also wanted to tell you about one of my favorite memories of us together—the time you told me about how your dog got lost at the park and ended up at a hotel. You were so upset, but when you finally found her, she was so happy to see you that she wouldn’t stop jumping all over your face! I remember laughing so hard while watching her do it.
I hope this letter finds you well and happy. Please feel free to write back if you’d like—I would love to hear from you again!
Dear [name],
How are you? I hope all is well.
I’m writing this letter because I wanted to tell you about one of my favorite memories with you. It was on a sunny day in September, when we were sitting at the park, eating ice cream and laughing. You told me a hilarious story about the time your brother got lost while hiking on his own, and how he eventually found his way back home after being missing for so long! I can’t believe he did that—but it made me laugh so hard!
It’s been awhile since we’ve seen each other, but I hope we can meet up soon!
Dear [name],
I just wanted to write you a note to tell you how much I appreciate the time we’ve spent together. I know that we haven’t always been able to see each other, but it’s really special when we do. You’re one of my best friends, and I’m so lucky to have someone like you in my life.
I wanted to tell you about the time we went camping together and it was raining so hard that our tent collapsed under the weight of the water on top of it. It was hilarious, but also scary because we were afraid it might not hold up against all that rain! But then it did! And we stayed dry! We had such a good time together that night—and every other night too!
Thanks for being an awesome friend!
Dear [name],
It’s been a long time since we’ve talked! I know you’re probably busy with work and your kids, but I wanted to take a moment to catch up.
[One or two of your favourite memories together]
I’m so glad that we can still talk about the good old days. I’ll never forget those times we spent together, especially those nights when we stayed up late talking about anything and everything. It’s nice to know that despite our busy lives and different schedules, there is still time for us to reconnect and share our thoughts on life.
I hope you have a great day!
Dear [name],
I hope you’re doing well! Things are going great for me. I just wanted to write you a quick note to say how much I’m missing you. It’s been almost two years since we last saw each other, and I miss our time together so much.
I’ve been thinking of the good old days when we hung out all the time and had so much fun together. Remember that summer when we went camping? Or the time we went to the circus and ate cotton candy? Or even that one time we got locked in the bathroom at school? Those were some of my favorite memories with you, [name].
Anyway, it’s been too long since I’ve seen your beautiful face. I can’t wait until next time!
Dear [name],
I’m writing to you because I want to tell you how much I’ve enjoyed our friendship over the years. We’ve been through so much together, and I know that no matter what happens in the future, we’ll always have these memories.
Do you remember when we were kids and we played with Legos all day? We would build houses and cars and then knock them down with giant hammers. And then we’d build them all over again! Or how about that one time we went swimming in your pool—and you accidentally dropped your phone in the water? Those were some good times!
I want to say thanks for being such a great friend. You are an incredible person and I am honored to be able to call you mine.
Best wishes always, [name].
Dear [name],
I’m writing to you because I’ve been meaning to tell you something for a long time: You are one of the most important people in my life, and I don’t think we show each other enough love.
I know that when we spend time together it’s usually at parties or bars, or at each other’s apartments when we’re both too exhausted to do anything but collapse into bed. But that doesn’t mean we can’t make more time for each other. It just means we have to plan ahead.
For example: How about next weekend? We can go out on Friday night and then sleep over at your place. It’ll be like old times! We’ll order pizza and watch movies all day Saturday, then cook together Sunday morning before heading out for brunch with our friends from high school who live nearby. If you want to bring your dog, that’s fine too—you know how much I love him!
Anyway. This letter is getting long so I’ll wrap it up before it becomes too sappy. Just know that I believe in us, and that if there’s anything you need from me (or vice versa), all you have to do is ask!
Dear [friend’s name],
I hope you’re doing well. I know it’s been a while since we last talked, and I just wanted to get in touch and check in on you!
You know how much I appreciate your friendship—you’re always there with a smile when I need it most, and you always have great advice for me. You’re such an inspiration, and I’m so grateful for the time we’ve been able to spend together.
One of my favorite memories together is when we went camping over the summer. We’d been planning that trip for months—we packed a lot of food and drink, but we had no idea what kind of weather we’d encounter (it was rainy). We didn’t have any rain jackets, so we took turns wearing each other’s coats… but then we found out that our tent was missing its stakes! Luckily, we were able to fix everything by tying rope around the stakes so they wouldn’t blow away in the wind or get stolen by bears. It was such a fun adventure!
I hope this email finds you well, [friend’s name]. You are always in my thoughts.
